    Strawberry Jam

My favorite jam flavor is strawberry! I love it on everything: pancakes, bagels, toast, even cereal. Ever since I got my Thermomix®, I have been making jam all of the time because it is super easy and comes out perfectly every time. Guess what? You can make delicious jam WITHOUT pectin. There is pectin naturally found in fruit, and usually it is used with fruits with a low pectin content. By lowering the pH using lemon juice, the pectin in the fruit with naturally form bonds the same way as if you were to add pectin to the jam. In this simple strawberry jam recipe, I do not use pectin.…

    Chocolate Oatmeal

On the weekends I like to treat myself and my family to a special breakfast. I try to think of something new every weekend, but also have a lot of delicious recipes in rotation. This chocolate oatmeal recipe is a family favorite, and goes great with fresh berries. The berries add a cool, refreshing taste, especially in the summertime! Oatmeal is really easy to cook in the Thermomix®, and I love that I can make different varieties by adding different ingredients. One time I made an apple maple pecan oatmeal, another I made peaches and cream, and one of my other favorites is blueberry cinnamon. The oatmeal possibilities are endless!…

    Mushroom and Leek Quiche

Quiche took me a while to perfect. I learned the hard way that the ideal ratio of eggs to milk is 2:1 (2 eggs for every cup of milk). I have made many runny and dry quiches alike, but after so many different tries I finally have a go-to quiche recipe that never fails me! You can use any vegetables you like instead of the mushrooms and leek, but I love the combination of these veggies with the gruyere cheese. A hint of nutmeg makes all the difference. I use an olive oil based crust, and by pre-baking it before adding the filling, it makes it nice and flaky. I…

    Banana Açaí Bowl

I used to make smoothie bowls before to boost my immune system and make sure I was eating enough fruits and or vegetables. Now I make them to not only boost my immune system, but also my energy levels! Having everyone at home these days has been a little exhausting, since our days are now very busy and the nights are still rough with a 5 month old not sleeping through the night. I feel so much better when I make on of these açaí bowls! You can find frozen açaí packets in the freezer section of your grocery store. I blend them with bananas, or any other frozen fruit.…

    Strawberry Banana Almond Butter Bowl

Strawberries, bananas and chocolate are one of my all-time favorite combinations. Add some cashews, almond butter and honey to the mix and this is one of the best breakfast bowls ever! The cacao nibs are not sweet, but offer healthy antioxidants and a rich cocoa taste to the bowl, along with a nice crunch. The strawberries, banana and honey sweeten up this healthy breakfast bowl, and the almond butter and cashews add protein. You can top plain yogurt, rolled oats, or your favorite muesli with the toppings to make this breakfast bowl complete. Once my spoon digs in, it does not stay this neat. I actually like to stir it…
